ALTCS (Arizona Long Term Care System) is a branch of AHCCCS and provides long term care services for those 65 or older, legally blind, or disabled that need ongoing nursing facility level of care. Services provided include long term care placement at a contracted facility, in home caregiving, assisted living, adult day care, home delivered meals, and case management and may include a share of cost.
As of February 1st, 2015 financial eligibility includes income of $2199 per month or less for an individual, and $2000 or less in assets that do not include pre-paid burial expenses, one vehicle, or the home the person lives in. Medical edibility requires an assessment from a nurse and can vary depending on disease process but usually requires dependence on several activities of daily living. ALTCS contracts with Bridgeway, United Healthcare, and Mercycare.
